Wondrous Night!

| January 1, 2014 | Parties

We always expect a wondrous evening at Miracles for Kids’ annual gala, and this year’s fete at The St. Regis Monarch Beach proved to be the most magnificent yet. A record $850,000 was raised for the nonprofit’s work to aid underserved families with critically ill children, and we give credit to the 660-plus good-hearted guests, like Olympian Apolo Ohno, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Lisa and David Heil, for that. They savored sips and cuisine while taking in mind-bending entertainment from Il Circo, and nabbed amazing auction prizes, including a vacay in Punta Mita. But the moment that moved us all came when Fund-a-Family auction bidders donated $292,000 to provide little ones like Michael “Mickey” Reyes, diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 6, and their families with basic living expenses while they undergo treatment. Miracle workers, most certainly.
