Wine of the Times

| April 8, 2015 | Parties National

Over the past 10 years, Share Our Wine Foundation’s Auction O.C. has given more than $1 million to charity. It’s a figure that couldn’t have been achieved without the oenophiles who fill the Samueli Theater to donate vintages from their own collections and bid on rare vinos. This year, 250-plus lots went on the block—and a 2000 Harlan Estate magnum uncorked an $1,800 sale. (It was the priciest bottle up for grabs.) Danielle Staffieri, Rick Kersenbrock and Sandy Segerstrom Daniels also raised their paddles for winnings like a wine cave package complete with a 60-inch TV and sound system from Vizio before heading to Charlie Palmer for an afterparty (yes, the nectar kept flowing). The best part, of course, was knowing that each sip supported the Cystinosis Research Foundation, Festival of Children, Orangewood and The Shea Center. Cheers to that! –Photos by Carla Rhea Photography
