The wine-loving crowd at Big Canyon

They came to savor, sip and support—standard protocol for Laura’s House’s third annual Wine & Dine benefit at Big Canyon Country Club. Oenophiles noshed on fromage, pasta and other bites in between pours of 60-plus vinos from Giracci Vineyards and Levendi Winery, among others. A blind-tasting contest gave guests the chance to test their palates, and a silent auction served up unique bottles. Of course, it wasn’t just about the grapes. It was also a time to raise funds ($20,000 worth) and reflect on the nonprofit’s 20 years of service to those who have been impacted by domestic violence. CEO Margaret Bayston spoke about the organization, and a shelter graduate bravely shared how she had suffered years of abuse before Laura’s House helped her escape.
