Wine Not!

| May 12, 2015 | Parties National

O.C.’s oenophiles have a hard time turning down a glass of the good stuff—particularly when each sip of sweet nectar supports a good cause. That’s why 450 grape lovers came out for Community Service Programs’ Love Grows by Giving benefit at the Hyatt Regency Surf City. Taste-testers savored food and vino pairings—favorites included the 2012 Uppercut Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon served by Main Street Wine Co. and a divine bacon truffle mac and cheese from Red Table. Invitees also bid on extravagant goodies like a Pelican Hill Bungalow golf and spa getaway (with a tally of $4,000, it brought in the most money for a single item) and a stay in the Hyatt’s Presidential Suite (that auctioned twice for a total of $4,800). A final pour? The fete raised more than $100,000 for the nonprofit’s Huntington Beach Youth Shelter, an emergency residence that’s aided 900-plus youth and their families since its inception in 2006. -Photos by Fotograafe Photo Studio
