Wine a Bit

Three days of drinking in ocean views and a good deal of vino—that’s what guests of the Balboa Bay Resort’s Wine Festival enjoyed. The weekend flowed from a dinner and reception with master sommeliers Ron Mumford and Ira Harmon on Friday to a sunset seafood feast on the lawn on Sunday. The highlight, however, was Saturday’s Grand Tasting Gala. Executive Chef Josef Lageder dished out palatable plates of fromage and desserts, with 200-plus sips from wineries the world over. Oenophiles walked from station to station, filling their glasses with reds and whites, and a splash of bubbly for fun. Ah, sweet nectar! Photography by Ann Chatillon
