Goodwill of O.C.’s inaugural gala at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott was 90 years in the making, created after nine decades spent helping the disabled achieve professional self-sufficiency. And it truly was a bash befitting such a birthday. Case in point: The guest list of 500 boasted names like O.C. native John Stamos and The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who combined their star power—and SoCal vibes—onstage to deliver surfer-cool classics “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “Kokomo.” The live auction was equally splashy, thanks to a five-night Hawaiian vacay and a guitar signed by the legendary rockers. And guests such as Alexandra and Keith Falk felt the nonprofit’s impact when individuals who have benefited from its programs shared their experiences. The final tally came in at more than $400,000, nearly doubling the fundraising goal and aiding the organization in its mission now—and for many years to come. –Photos by Miguel Pola Photographers
