For San Clemente native Hana Miller, a passion for helping women physically, emotionally and spiritually has become her life’s work. As the owner of Hana Medicine, her private acupuncture practice, and The Balanced Woman, her online coaching business, Miller utilizes Eastern medicine and hormonal balancing to bring healing to others. “Their accomplishments feel like my own, and what I love about my work is that it really has nothing to do with me,” says Miller of her clients. “It’s all about the collective evolution of the community and female population in its entirety.” This summer, Miller will bring balance to her own life by taking a step back from work to explore Italy, France and Spain, and enjoy “some much-needed ti me in the sun and the ocean” with her family and friends.

A third-generation physician and second-generation plastic surgeon, Dr. Mark Gaon’s aptitude for transforming the lives of others is in his blood. At his Newport Beach-based practice, Gaon Plastic Surgery, the Stanford and Tulane University graduate specializes in facial, body and breast surgeries, and offers his patients personal and individualized care by ensuring no assistants are utilized while under the knife and that he will be present for each postoperative appointment. “What a lot of folks don’t realize is how physical the work of plastic surgery can be,” says Gaon of his wellness routine, which includes strength training and swimming. “A full-body liposuction session and tummy tuck can take as much out of the surgeon as a solid gym session!” This summer, he’ll escape the bright lights of the operating room to indulge his love of deep-sea fishing, snorkeling and fun in the sun at Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas.

While Dr. Jennifer Armstrong’s star has soared this year thanks to her participation in season 16 of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County, the well-educated mother of three—who holds degrees from Georgetown University and the John A. As the CEO and medical director of Newport Beach’s Armstrong MD, Armstrong helps others optimize beauty through the use of injectables, lasers and other noninvasive techniques. When she’s not penning academic articles or contributing to books on dermatology, the O.C. native is working on her own fitness and wellness goals, all in an effort to align her “brain, beauty and body.”
