Snakeskin, suede, silk—oh, my! With Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant serving as host, there was little doubt the launch of Shoes of Prey’s new Design Your Own Shoes studio at Nordstrom’s Fashion Island store would be in step with glamour. More than 80 VIPs mixed and mingled as they sipped cocktails and savored nibbles, then gathered around iPads to fashion their own fab footwear with the brand’s 3-D online design program, which offers a plethora of sizes, styles, colors, heel heights, materials and embellishments. Also on hand: Project Runway All Stars talent Jerell Scott and Shoes of Prey co-founder Michael Fox, who boasted about how Bryant had complimented him on a blue suit he wore to an earlier event—and quipped that he didn’t “take it off for weeks after that.” What a kick! –Photos by Robert Rooks
