Vivant-garde Grammy winner Christopher Cross belted out hit after hit for some 3,000 guests and stars who attended the Celebrity Event at the Laguna Festival of Arts. The gala is the most-anticipated night of the monthlong Pageant of the Masters stagings and art fest. And this year was a standout, grossing $230,000. But that’s what you’d expect from the fest’s 80th anniversary party, which drew the likes of Hal Linden and host Marcia Gay Harden. After the concert, guests filled the Irvine Bowl for a final presentation of this year’s show, The Genius, which closed with a staging of da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” The canvas can do miracles.
