It was a big win for O.C.’s football fans and movie mongers when Kevin Costner sports drama Draft Day celebrated its West Coast premiere in Newport Beach. The evening kicked off with a VIP soiree at the uberposh Fig & Olive, where the film’s star-studded cast and NFL pros—think celebs Josh Pence and Patrick St. Esprit, and the Cleveland Browns’ Joe Haden—chatted with local notables Marisa Wayne (John Wayne’s daughter) and Angels Chairman Dennis Kuhl. Up next came the screening, and the film scored major points among the audience—as did the alfresco afterparty at the Newport Beach Civic Center. Even better? The night doubled as the launch of the Foundation for the Undefeated, a sports advocacy group and nonprofit that supports charities like the Special Olympics. Touchdown! -Photos by Ann Chatillon
