Anton and Jennifer Segerstrom had plenty of reasons to be proud—more than 300 of them, actually. That’s how many people packed Charlie Palmer for this year’s South Coast Plaza Summer Food & Wine Fest—an annual tradition for more than 25 years, founded by the Segerstroms to support Second Harvest Food Bank. Charlie Palmer attended the event, which featured 100-plus wines (Duckhorn, Trinitas and Justin among them) and bites created by Executive Chef Seakyeong Kim. The smoked and seared scallop with pineapple and rhubarb yogurt was a hit, and so were the duck wings with red wine pomegranate reduction. Even better than the food, though, was the end result.
