Tickled Pink

| September 25, 2015 | Parties National

THE PARTY A blush-colored glow fell over the typically orange-hued Great Park for Komen O.C.’s Pink Tie Ball. Dubbed A Blast for the Cure, the alfresco affair drew a sold-out crowd of 540 guests (many of whom were clad in the signature shade) to honor the 2015 Pink Tie Guys (seven biz execs are named each year) and raise funding for breast health programs and research (the final tally rocketed to $587,127). THE GUESTS Scott Sherman, who co-chaired the bash with wife Karen, and former chairmen Scott Wheeler and Sam Riela sported pink Converse to show their commitment to the nonprofit. It’s something Sherman hopes will become a tradition for the PTGs. And speaking of those gents, awardees included Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee Jeff Shady; he donated a dozen of the treats to the live auction, which Sherman and Nimesha Dave nabbed for $2,000 each. THE HIGHLIGHTS The stars sparkled in the sky as survivor and mother of three Jacque Ruddy shared these powerful words: “My kids and I don’t have much. ... But I am healthy, and I will be here to watch them grow up.” –Photos by Richard G├ímez of Grafik Creature and Antje Woolum of Antje PhotoArt
