Three Questions With Haute Mama Author Zeina J. Collins

Allison Mitchell | November 14, 2017 | Feature Features

Coto de Caza resident Zeina J. Collins pens a self-help tome aimed at mothers of all kinds.

Calling Coto de Caza resident Zeina J. Collins “Wonder Woman” would be fitting for the wife and mom of two—with a third arriving in January—who makes balancing parenthood and a career seem effortless. Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, the powerhouse made it her life’s mission to live the American dream after escaping her country’s civil war and relocating to SoCal. Two degrees (a bachelor’s from UCI and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University of Law), a namesake law firm and a board position with CHOC’s Glass Slipper Guild later, the former model now is adding another feather to her cap: author, of Haute Mama, due out next summer. Here, her notes.

Tell us about your forthcoming self-help tome.
My book represents the modern, globalized mamas—whether stay-at-home, part-time or full-time career moms—who are balancing it all. With information on how to train your baby to sleep on their own to how to maintain your health and fitness routine, Haute Mama serves as a no-nonsense guide to managing motherhood without losing yourself.

How do you think the book will resonate with local ladies?
O.C. is a very unique place in that we are surrounded by glamorous, inspirational women. Haute Mama is not just a book; it’s a lifestyle that redefines motherhood. O.C. moms can follow along on Instagram (@hautemamabook), where I provide weekly health, fitness, lifestyle and mommy tips.

The Glass Slipper Guild hosts several events throughout the year. Our biggest fundraiser, the Glass Slipper Guild Gala, will [take place] April 28 at Paséa Hotel & Spa, and will help us reach our $1 million pledge for the CHOC Hyundai Cancer Institute and the Complementary Integrative Medicine Program.
