In the Groove

It was a swanky scene straight out of the ’60s when Childhelp’s O.C. chapter threw its Rat Pack Redux, an evening of fundraising (to the tune of nearly $800,000 net) and revelry (with old-school style) at the Balboa Bay Resort. Some 350 debonair gents and classy ladies—ambassador Maksim Chmerkovskiy and event chairwomen Kristen James, Joy Whitlock and Shan Vincent, among them—threw down the dice during rounds of craps and raised their paddles high for live auction prizes, including a sleek suit from Ermenegildo Zegna. They also noshed on a gourmet meal and cut a rug to music from the Tijuana Dogs. But the highlight came when founder Sara O’Meara honored Jacquie and Michael Casey for their dedication to the nonprofit’s work to treat and end child abuse. And we think that’s very cool. –Photos by Ann Chatillon
