The Children's Hour

| October 30, 2013 | Parties National

Festival of Children Foundation invited Orange County’s finest to make a difference in the lives of youth, and guests did just that by attending the nonprofit’s annual opening night party, which kicked off its monthlong charity outreach program at South Coast Plaza. So, what was this year’s theme? A Call to Action, natch. Wing Lam and Ed Arnold were just a few of the 440 notables and community leaders who were spotted delighting in delectable nibbles and cool cocktails on the outdoor Garden Terrace—the stylish scene for it all—while learning more about the organizations participating in the event. They also helped recognize Elizabeth Piercy with the FRED (For Really Extraordinary “Do”ers) Award. The recent high school grad, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 8, has made an impact by knitting more than 900 hats for the ill and underserved. Now that’s taking the call!
