The Big Swell

| September 30, 2013 | Parties

The shores of Surf City rocked ’n’ rolled when 700 beach-loving beauties gathered for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Pipeline to a Cure gala at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. But that stands to reason: The sixth annual soiree raised $525,000 to find a cure for the fatal, hereditary lung disease and recognized Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness, and his wife, Christine, for their ongoing support. Fellow musically inclined celebs like Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and former Sugar Ray drummer Stan Frazier joined honorary co-chairmen Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama, and guests Wing and Kelly Lam in raising a cheer for the couple. Auctions stocked with surf experiences and jet-setting journeys also made a splash among attendees before Ness took to the stage with Flashback Heart Attack for a few tunes. Ride that wave!
