That's Swell!

Protect the globe’s ocean environment—that was the goal of the 600-plus beach-loving beauties who flooded SIMA’s (aka Surf Industry Manufacturers Association) Waterman’s Weekend, which included a golf tourney at the Monarch Beach Golf Links and a primo party at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Among the highlights: a gourmet dinner and a live auction stocked with goodies like a rare redwood surfboard. Brandon Boyd; his band, Incubus; and other water warriors also were honored for their dedication to the world of surfing, but the biggest splash was that the weekend raised $400,000. Now that’s making waves! Photography by Brent Hilleman and Jon Steele
