| October 12, 2012 | Parties National

They gathered at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach wearing flip-flops, aloha shirts and sundresses—the standard attire for the Pipeline to a Cure gala, which in its five years of existence has garnered about $2 million for the fight against cystic fibrosis. The guest list read like a who’s who of surfing legends, with names like Jeff Clark, Jericho Poplar and Peter “PT” Townend. Mickey Munoz and marketing pro Rick Parkhill earned special honors for their commitment to finding a cure for the lung disease. A rad collection of silent auction prizes and a “bid for a cure” sesh (which was matched by L.A. Car Guy’s Mike Sullivan) helped raise $465,000.
