Step Right Up!

| August 5, 2014 | Parties National

It was an evening that harkened back to California’s glory days, when outdoor carnival rides and arcade booths lined the coast. But the scene was set in 21st century style—at the Hyatt Regency Surf City. (It’s what you’d expect from a Pac Symph gala.) Some 400 partygoers delighted in a re-creation of the Long Beach Pike, circa 1902, complete with sideshow entertainers, games and carnival treats. But the fun really got rolling in the ballroom, where dinner, entertainment, a live auction and a Fund-a-Dream drive ensued, during which paddles were raised high. In all, the night’s tally was a record $1.6 million. Enchanting! –Photos by Nick Koon Photography
