Step Inside!

| December 2, 2011 | Parties

A small group of VIPs got a sneak peek at four child-sized abodes fit to rival the most luxurious properties in the county—we’re not kidding—during HomeAid O.C.’s Project Playhouse Premiere Party at Irvine Spectrum Center. Attendees, like Project Playhouse co-chairman John Racunas and co-chairwoman Brandi Uehli, toured the creations and relived their childhoods—if it was spent in a lavishly appointed and artfully crafted playhouse, of course. (Think indoor/outdoor speaker systems, fireplaces, pocketing glass doors and whimsical design touches. Sir Lyon’s Castle even has its own moat, natch!) And it was just the beginning of the 20th anniversary of Project Playhouse, which culminated in a lively celebration and auction, with funds benefiting the nonprofit’s efforts to construct housing for the homeless in O.C. “This fundraiser has changed lives for thousands of homeless families, and we’re thankful to everyone who’s been a part of it.” – Gina Scott, director of development for HomeAid Orange County.
