WHAT’S OLD IS NEW One of the world’s oldest luxury fashion houses has opened its first SoCal brick-and-mortar at—you guessed it—South Coast Plaza. Founded in 1846 in Madrid, Loewe is known for its exquisite leather goods, clothing, perfumes and accessories that have been popular among iconic figures throughout history—from Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth to Marlene Dietrich and Sophia Loren. Housed in the Nordstrom Wing on Level 1, near neighbors Dior, Roger Vivier and Hermès, the roughly 1,500-square-foot space reflects the next era of Loewe’s evolution, led by fashion designer and Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, who has ushered in new fans of the brand, including rappers A$AP Rocky and Pusha T. Reminiscent of an art collector’s home, the boutique oozes creativity through curated paintings, sculptures, furnishings and craft ed objects, which all serve as the backdrop for Anderson’s cool yet classic designs for both him and her. Welcome to the neighborhood. loewe.com; southcoastplaza.com
