Picture this: An hour of peaceful savasana (everyone’s favorite yoga pose, also known as laying on your back), accompanied by a guided meditation specialist focused on transforming your body and mind through spiritual cleansing, and the eventual goal of achieving zen, all set amidst the soft orange glow of a salt room.
Experience Aarna Spa in Pasea Hotel’s new tranquil salt room, complete with a huge Himalayan salt wall and expert sound bath technicians trained in the art of meditation, on Friday, April 22 at 4 p.m. for a special Earth Day sound bath.
Guests will be guided through meditation and a series of sounds that will leave the body refreshed, invigorated, and free from stress. While each experience is different for each person, many experience an improvement in mood.

A sound bath may sound intense, but its process is really rather simple. As guests lay on their backs on the ground, a sound specialist will play instruments like chimes, gongs, metal singing bowls and tuning forks to transport their minds into a state of meditation. The sounds don’t follow a song-like pattern but instead serve as a steadying sound for your mind to relax to and ease its transition into peaceful meditation.
Repetitive drumming accompanied by a spiritual guide’s instructions, is said to decrease heart rates and send guests into a dream-like state, according to a small 2014 study. The vibrations from each instrument, reverberating off the salt walls and traveling through guests bodies is also a zen technique of the bath.
Salt rooms are said to have similar relaxing benefits and can even help to improve your breathing, but be sure to check how much salt is expelled and what its benefits are before indulging, as there are different kinds of salt treatments.
Aarna Spa is no stranger to relaxation and zen. The spa features a host of luxurious activities and amenities, like: eight peaceful treatment rooms, couples suites, yoga space, fitness equipment, a pier to stroll down and a private garden with fire pits, cabanas and a cascading water feature.
Spend this Earth Day relaxing your mind and releasing your tensions with a trip to the newly-renovated Aarna Spa.
The cost for this event is $45 per person, which includes valet parking, pre-session tea service, and a glass of champagne following the session. Reservations can be made here.
Aarna Spa is located inside the Pasea Hotel & Spa. 21080 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
