Some Enchanted Evening

| October 25, 2011 | Parties

Always a spectacular event, the 2011 Romance of the Mission benefit gala once again engaged the senses with the exquisite sight of the Great Stone Church shimmering in multicolored lights, and echoing with operatic arias and melodic vocals performed by local son and world-renowned opera singer Rod Gilfry. Up for honors: Monsignor Arthur Holquin, the current and one of the finest of the long line of padres who have helped preserve Orange County’s historic treasure. Traditional Jewelers donated a sparkling custom ring, and the Pacific Symphony donated a $1,000 concert evening experience. But nothing sparkled more grandly than the mission itself.
