A Soaring Soiree

| October 6, 2014 | Parties

Those who knew the password to Community Action Partnership’s Race to Heal Hunger gala were taken back in time, with a vintage-themed evening during which 250 partygoers mixed, mingled and admired the World War II-era aircraft at Lyon Air Museum. VIPs stepped into a speakeasy-style reception, complete with lounge performers and old-fashioned drinks. Next came a fashion show highlighting the humble beginnings of the Segerstrom family, who went from farming to owning South Coast Plaza. Then there was the Stiletto Grand Prix—a race down the red carpet wearing high heels. By the end of the bash, $74,000 had been raised to help feed the hungry.
