Smooth Sailing

| April 2, 2012 | Parties National

American Red Cross execs, volunteers and supporters boarded the Dulcinea and joined retired Lt. Gen. Russel HonorĂ© to celebrate the nonprofit’s work here in O.C. with a night of sailing the seas—well, Newport Harbor at least. The “sailors” sipped cocktails while HonorĂ©—the event’s guest speaker—offered a few sage words as the sprawling 100-foot yacht owned by Bill and Sue Johnson, founding members of the Humanitarian Circle of the American Red Cross, cut through the glassy water. More than 60 guests, including Yard House CEO Harald Herrmann and his wife, Courtney, delighted in an evening of uplifting stories and delicious bites. Now that’s cruising for a cause.
