The modern steakhouse will serve classic American dishes and a collection of cuts and chops—from Cedar River, Snake River Farms, Double R Ranch and more—prepared over flame-broiled grills. In addition to prime meat options, the highly anticipated spot will offer fresh sustainably caught seafood, handcrafted sushi and sashimi, traditional cocktails and an impressive selection of wine. James Beard Foundation Smart Catch Leader JoJo Ruiz designed the menu with executive chef James Jung, who showcases his Asian culinary background with modern interpretations of dishes like the half peking duck served with Tokyo negi, cucumber, hoisin sauce and pancakes. A socially conscious restaurant, SET will utilize organic and locally sourced sustainable ingredients.
“We intend to deliver a dining experience that’s unlike anything in Orange County today,” says Clique Hospitality founder Andy Masi, who's behind popular dining concepts throughout Las Vegas and San Diego. “SET is going to be a true culinary experience, from the finest ingredients to the most gorgeous cocktails and tableside preparations. The design of the restaurant will create a picture-perfect backdrop, elevating the dining in Newport Beach to another level.”
With a design intended to simulate the experience of being aboard a luxurious yachting vessel, SET will immerse guests in an enchanting oasis in Newport Beach. Alessandro Munge and Studio Munge handled the interior design of the venue, which also includes a garden-inspired patio with lush greenery and twinkling lights.
“We’re excited to be teaming up with Clique Hospitality again following the success and popularity of their restaurant and club at Pendry San Diego, as well as Pendry Chicago’s restaurant, Venteux,” said David Hoffman, general manager of Pendry Newport Beach. “We look forward to introducing an entirely new dining experience to Newport Beach.”
