Serious Smiles

A Havana Nights-themed ballroom at the Balboa Bay Club set the scene for some Serious Fun at Human Options’ annual gala, which this year honored the Churm family for their longstanding commitment to the nonprofit’s mission to end domestic violence. When they weren’t cheering on the night’s awardees, guests enjoyed a delish dinner, and live and silent auctions—and they even hit the floor to groove to playful beats produced by former Righteous Brother band member Lee Ferrell and Friends. The night netted $440,000 to support the Irvine-based nonprofit’s efforts, and that made all the attendees grin with glee. Photos by Reggie Ige
