The sounds and symbols of hope were seen and heard during Hyundai Motor America’s Handprint Ceremony, held to commemorate the second installment of its $10 million grant to CHOC Children’s cancer institute. Local VIPs, hospital docs and staff, and Hyundai team members rolled into Segerstrom Center for the Arts, where they were treated to hors d’oeuvres and drinks, and enjoyed a special performance from the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, led by musical maestro Myung-Whun Chung. But the ceremony was the soul of the event, which captured the colorful handprints of children undergoing cancer treatment at the pediatric medical center and drove home the dream for a cure.
