Segerstrom's Candlelight Concert

| February 24, 2017 | Parties

A sold-out crowd of 460 guests raises a record $2.6 million-plus at Segerstrom’s Candlelight Concert.

THE PARTY
When the entertainment is from Grammy Award winner Carole King and the goodie bag includes a 32-inch strand of pearls by Lugano Diamonds, you know you’re in for a night to remember. But that’s what you get when you have two power couples like Tracy and Roger Kirwan, and Jaynine and David Warner co-chairing the annual Candlelight Concert, which feted the Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ 30th anniversary.

THE GUESTS
Elizabeth Segerstrom was radiant in her gold-on-black gown as she mingled with VIPs Betty Huang and Laurel Grant, while longtime supporters Sally Crockett and Leslie Cancellieri toasted the eve’s success.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
This marked King’s only West Coast visit, and every note she belted out excited the audience. Afterward, guests relived highlights of the center’s past and got a peek at its future via a video compilation before making their way onto Segerstrom Hall’s stage for dinner. The best takeaway? The more than $2.6 million raised will ensure the nonprofit’s programming will continue for decades to come. Bravo! -Tina Borgatta
