Season's Eatings!

Allison Mitchell | November 14, 2018 | Feature Features

Come hungry for these Thanksgiving feasts at some of O.C.'s most beloved dining destinations.
Holiday classics, like pumpkin pie with toasted walnuts, are on the menu at The Ranch at Laguna Beach's Thanksgiving brunch.

Five Crowns
A Corona del Mar staple, Five Crowns entices with an array of Turkey Day options. Settle in to one of the restaurant’s fireside tables, where chef Alejandra Padilla impresses with a menu that includes oven-roasted free-range turkey with all the fixings. Think stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, buttered Blue Lake green beans and housemade cranberry compote. And if turkey isn’t your thing, order the prime rib of beef, which is available both in-house or to-go (complete with Yorkshire pudding, organic whipped cream horseradish and your choice of side). Little ones—12 and under—can also enjoy junior portions of the eatery’s signature favorites. Bon app├ętit! Nov. 22, 11am-8pm

Montage Laguna Beach
For a truly decadent holiday experience, Montage Laguna Beach offers a Masterpiece Thanksgiving Celebration. A twelve-station holiday buffet—with menu offerings ranging from white oak smoked turkey breast to slow-roasted garlic-rosemary prime rib—ensures the whole family leaves full. Live entertainment, a complimentary Champagne toast and on-site photography makes it a day to remember. Nov. 22, 1-6pm, tickets $180 per adult, tickets $50 per child ages 4-12 years, children under 4 complimentary

Oak Grill at Fashion Island Hotel
Newly minted executive chef Brittany Valles will toast her first Thanksgiving at Fashion Island Hotel’s crown jewel with a four-course meal full of hearty fare. Blue cheese and pecan-stuffed figs; roasted butternut squash soup; roasted turkey; Maine lobster; and more satisfy savory palettes, while pastry chef Andy de la Cruz delights with pumpkin pie with burnt cinnamon ice cream and apple pie with fresh bay leaf ice cream for sugar addicts. Yes, arriving hungry is never a bad idea. Nov. 22, 4-9pm, tickets $90 per adult, tickets $35 per child ages 5-12, children under 4 complimentary

The Ranch at Laguna Beach
Make a required reservation and kick the festivities off early with a Thanksgiving brunch featuring mouthwatering favorites like confit turkey breast, cranberries with candied orange, and pumpkin pie with toasted walnuts. Acoustic live music sets the tone for an enchanting day with the family, and the kiddos will be in high spirits thanks to a donut wall with seasonally-flavored crullers. Nov. 22, noon-4pm, tickets $85 per adult, tickets $40 per child ages 12 and under

Splashes at Surf & Sand Resort
Thanksgiving gets a California makeover at Splashes at Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, where a three-course menu (with optional wine pairings) takes place with primo views of the ocean. It’s a fitting setting as highlights include dungeness crab roulade, caramelized kabocha squash salad, roast Diestel Farms turkey and a pumpkin tart to finish—with pumpkin gelato, natch. Nov. 22, noon-4pm, tickets $85 per person; 4-8pm, tickets $110 per person; additional $40 for wine pairings
