The glitzy dinner setting at Big Canyon
A vintage Lincoln Zephyr convertible parked in front of the Big Canyon Country Club was just one of many details that transported more than 440 ladies and gents back to the era of hot jazz and flappers at CHOC Children’s Glass Slipper Guild Gala, which raised more than $330,000 for the nonprofit pediatric medical institution. Take the Ole Smokey Moonshine Bar. Here, guests like Blaine and Renetta Caya, and Janet and Jim Rome were served sparkling flutes of bubbly before sitting down to dinner in a beautifully draped tent outfitted with speakeasy-inspired decor. (What else?) A live auction, meanwhile, wowed with winnings such as a ski trip to Aspen, and guests later put their hands together for group member Kara Kipp, who shared her son’s inspiring story of surviving cancer with the help of CHOC. And that’s the cat’s meow! –Photos by Juls Megill Photography
