Right on Q

| February 23, 2012 | Parties

It was an outrageous beginning to 2012 when O.C.’s chicest—more than 350 of them—gathered at AnQi for its New Year’s Eve party. But that’s what you get when AnQi’s Elizabeth An sets out to throw a party that won’t soon be forgotten. She transformed the hot spot into a Forbidden Den. Discovered within: a geisha serving sushi off her dress; aerialists pouring Champagne; a chocolate-dipped woman; and a library of sushi bites, which were checked out like best-sellers. Terri Nunn and Berlin, meanwhile, performed hits like “Take My Breath Away,” while stylish crowds swayed on the dance floor. The best part: A percentage of ticket sales benefited Orange County United Way and CASA. It all nearly put guests like Moira and Fred Kamgar, and Melinda Serra “over the top” before counting down to the new year. Photos by Xuong from Happy Photos
