Riding High

| July 30, 2013 | Parties

Painted stilt walkers, dancers and decorative art were among the many visually inspiring elements that greeted attendees at J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center’s annual soiree at Montage Laguna Beach, which roped in more than $550,000 for the org’s programs. The theme for it all: Performance in Motion, naturally. With cocktails in hand, a sold-out crowd of 450—including chairwoman Julie Frost, Nancy and Derek Lewis, Bill and Jenny Klein, and Amber Offield—meandered through the resort’s coastal surrounds, admiring the silent auction items (all 200 of them) and the view. They also helped honor Susie and Rob Roof for their support of the nonprofit before hitting the floor to groove to the tunes of Side Effect—seven instrumentalists, a soul vocal quartet and a singer.
