It was a party fit for the queen when Timothy Oulton celebrated the opening of its new concept at HD Buttercup in Costa Mesa. Interior design enthusiasts and Anglophiles gathered in the hip space to admire the brand’s handcrafted pieces, which masterfully combine British heritage with a modern twist. (Gotta love its ode to the Age of Elegance!) Guests nibbled on hors d’oeuvres by 24 Carrots and sipped flutes of Veuve—and they even had a chance to pose with the Royal Guards. (Partiers got a little cheeky: Kristi Nguyen and Nicole Vu traded hats with the guys before mugging for the camera.) The crowning moment: Mayor Stephen Mensinger knighted the store with an official proclamation welcoming it to our shores. Now that’s a British invasion! -Photos by Reza Allah-Bakhshi
