Red Alert!

| June 4, 2013 | Parties National

The Island Hotel in Newport was consumed by a sea of red—but that’s because it served as the location for this year’s Go Red For Women luncheon and, as such, played host to more than 500 ladies and gents who donned crimson dresses, shirts and ties to show their support for the American Heart Association’s fight to end heart disease. All eyes were on the women, however. In case you didn’t know, cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer for the female gender, and the $400,000 raised during this year’s Go Red campaign will help fund women’s awareness programs and research for a cure. It’s a cause close to everyone’s heart. Photography by Reza Allah-Bakhshi
