With a client list that includes Lauren Conrad and The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown, interior designers Leigh Lincoln and Aly Morford of Newport Beach’s Pure Salt Interiors (puresaltinteriors.com) have been creating beautiful spaces for projects both big and small since launching in 2015. Now, the dynamic duo is ushering in the next chapter of their ever-evolving design services with the debut of a new flagship store—Pure Salt Shoppe—on West 16th Street. Here’s the inside scoop.

Congratulations on the opening of your new flagship! Why was now the right time to open? AM: We are incredibly grateful to have had some amazing growth last year, which means a larger team and the need for more space, so we expanded our existing Newport office and created a flagship store and design studio that would truly integrate the two sides of Pure Salt. Now, our design services and our shopping experience go hand in hand, with our clients having access to our store to see their selections in the flesh, and our customers having access to our stylists and designers for personalized shopping. It’s such a great representation of what we always set out to do with Pure Salt—which is to make beautiful design accessible to all who want it.
How have your Newport roots influenced your business? LL: Being so near the beach is always an inspiration to us; we love the breezy, relaxed, indoor-outdoor aesthetic of Southern California living and we feel that all around us in Newport Beach. We knew we wanted to create a space where unique and memorable experiences could be made, where a visit to the Pure Salt store isn’t just another shopping trip, but an opportunity to immerse yourself in and create your dream home.

What can shoppers expect upon entering the store? AM: The store takes you through a series of vignettes—a living room, bedroom, dining space, and even a corner for our baby and kids brand, Little Salt—so shoppers can fully immerse themselves with all the elements of design.
What are some of the most unique features of the store? LL: Our apothecary is a true showstopper in our opinion—a huge vintage cabinet filled with live and faux plants, candles, incense, soaps and other decor pieces, complete with an assortment of hanging plant arrangements—it’s a one-of-a-kind attraction of sorts.

What are your personal favorite products currently on offer? AM: Our bedding line is a forever favorite—the duvets are reversible and the sheets are the softest things we’ve ever felt. We are also loving all of our new pillows; they are perfect to mix and match and can be styled on a bed or on a sofa so they feel very easy to refresh and love on for a long time.

What's next? LL: We’ll have a new collection with our partners at Tirzah International late this summer, which is centered around supporting women across the globe through the curation of their beautiful artisan products in our Shoppe. We are also launching our Design School program, which will allow everyone to take a course in Pure Salt design for their own projects. You can also stay tuned for our long-awaited upholstery line, more design project reveals, plus so much more to help as many people as possible achieve a Pure Salt home.
