Pop Rocks

| March 21, 2013 | Parties

A wickedly delish party was in store for the 100 music fans at Pacific Symphony League’s Pops opening night festivities. Aural delights began at dinner in the new Center Club. Soprano Whitney Kaufman made a surprise showing to perform with pianist Nelson Kole. Then it was time for the main event at RenĂ©e and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, and here’s where it really gets good. (Or should we say evil?) The symphony played Broadway and pop hits alongside vocalists Alli Mauzey and Julia Murney of, yes, Wicked. Tunes like “All That Jazz” made the bill before the final number—but you’ll just have to guess what they performed. Photos by Nick Koon
