Poker Face

Pretend City ensured guests a fun-filled night where the stakes were high and the excitement levels were through the roof at its third annual poker tourney, held at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport. The Vegas-themed party included a VIP reception, where O.C.’s elite were treated to demos from professional poker players, and a live auction touting an array of luxury goods up for grabs (like a weekend getaway at The Resort at Pelican Hill, complete with a Maserati to sport). And despite the tempting touches at this Sin City-style affair, only good deeds were gambled, as evidenced by the whopping $167,000 raised in support of the nonprofit children’s museum.
