Ooh La La!

| May 30, 2013 | Parties

Bunches of roses in vibrant hues, a miniature Eiffel Tower and other Parisian-inspired decor provided a pretty backdrop for the Newport chapter of National Charity League Juniors’ mother-daughter event at the Island Hotel. Styles from Bloomingdale’s Fashion Island delighted the 500 lovely ladies (and a few gentlemen) in attendance, and they went wild when sixth-graders and their mothers took the stage to show off a look or two. Co-chairwomen Jenny Gehl, Laura Baskurt, Monique Tipton and the rest of the guests also were treated to a luxe silent auction, Champagne and tasty cuisine (courtesy of the resort’s Executive Chef David Man and his team). As the day came to a close, all agreed that the NCL Juniors once again fulfilled their mission of fostering mother-daughter relationships through philanthropic, cultural and social efforts.
