THE PARTY
Diane von Furstenberg, Sandro—the designers of South Coast Plaza helped the Camino Health Center Auxiliary celebrate its 30th anniversary in style during the group’s runway show at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. The day benefited the medical institution’s efforts to provide affordable health care to underserved residents—and from the fashionable flair to the coastal fare, it was truly on trend.
THE GUESTS
Well-heeled attendees began the morning by vying for silent auction items like a string of Mikimoto pearls (the highest bid: a whopping $1,750) before gathering in the ballroom for lunch (think lemongrass-ginger chicken breast). Here, nonprofit founder Gaye Birtcher gave the invocation, and Camino CEO Debra Drew shared that, since its inception, the charity has brought in upward of $6 million.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
A final touch of sparkle: A three-piece set from Chopard valued at $17,500 was raffled off to Debbie Robinson, who split her winnings with her two daughters. Coupled with the nearly $260,000 raised, the fete was très chic, indeed. -Photography by John Eckmier and Mission Hospital Foundation
