Noble Nosh

It was a meal fit for culinary royalty when Marché Moderne hosted the Friends of James Beard Benefit dinner. A Parmesan and English pea egg began the eve, and a butterscotch pot de creme finished it—but in between, there was plenty of indulgence to be had. The 90 epicureans mingled with chef-owners Florent and Amelia Marneau while sipping bubbly and bidding on auction items (a year of lunches for two at Marché proved irresistible, bringing in $2,600). The crowning achievement? The fete landed $20,800 before guests went home with an espresso almond gateau from Amelia—a parting gift from a pastry queen. –Photos by Ryan Miller of Capture Imaging
