New Moon

| April 9, 2013 | Parties National

It was the type of lunar new year celebration that one would expect from a place as chic as South Coast Plaza. The world-class shopping destination hosted hundreds of guests who sipped and nibbled on drinks and treats amid performers and musicians—all befitting the start of this year of the snake. (Think themed cocktails, green jasmine tea and Lucky Buddha Chinese beer, along with unagi sushi rolls, dim sum, e-fu noodles and honey-glazed walnut shrimp.) Towering over the scene: a massive re-creation of a jubilant snake made from flowers, live plants, paper and glitter, and further adorned by Chinese lanterns symbolizing good luck, gold coins for good fortune and live orange trees to herald a happy year ahead.
