Nautical Nights

| July 17, 2015 | Parties

There was hardly a dry eye among the guests gathered at the Balboa Pavilion for Olive Crest’s All Aboard... Strong Families, Safe Kids gala, thanks to 18-year-old Apple Taylor, who credited the organization for lifting her out of an abusive home and sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les MiseĢrables. Bryan Kaltenbach, president of Food4Less, took home the inaugural Founder’s Award, and Steve Bernardy, senior VP of Merrill Lynch, was bestowed the Champion for the Children Award. An even better reason to party? The $254,000-plus raised ensures that Olive Crest will continue improving the lives of the 3,000 young adults and families it serves each day. That’s strength! –Photos by Ken Juber and Carla Rhea
