Musical Moment

| October 31, 2011 | Parties

The Philharmonic Society of Orange County opened its 2011-2012 season with two sold-out performances of Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra on October 13th and 17th at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Part of the Elizabeth & Henry Segerstrom Select Series, both performances of the Mariinsky were generously sponsored by Chopard, whose elegant displays of fine jewelry and watches flanked the orchestra and box tier levels and garnered lavish attention from concert attendees.

In honor of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County's partnerships with Carnegie Hall and Segerstrom Center for the Arts, these performances paid tribute to two milestone anniversaries this season—the 25th anniversary year of Segerstrom Center for the Arts and the 120th anniversary of the opening of Carnegie Hall.
