It was an evening unlike any other for more than 350 animal lovers who filled the Santa Ana Zoo for this year’s Zoofari. Dubbed the Cat’s Meow, the affair featured ’20s-inspired decor, eats and drinks. (A sip of the Roarin’ Rickey’s Fizz took guests back to the Prohibition era.) Silent and live auctions, and dancing under the stars rounded out the night—but the wildlife was the star of the party. And two Brazilian ocelots are one step closer to taking up residence at the Wild Cats of El Bosque Verde exhibit, thanks to the $80,000 netted. Photography by Ann Chatillon
