The best way to tackle Memorial Day weekend is with a plan. In Orange County, events for the holiday weekend range from Garden Grove’s Strawberry Festival to Costa Mesa’s Scottish Fest. Check out the full list below.

Irvine will host a few different events in honor of Memorial Day. On May 28, Northwood Community Park will have its annual Northwood Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony to honor fallen soldiers. Then, on May 29, Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park will host a Memorial Day ceremony for families to also honor the veterans who have lost their lives fighting for our country.

From May 26 to 29, Garden Grove will host its Strawberry Festival. This festival will have rides and attractions, parades, contests, vendor booths, a cake-cutting ceremony and more. There will also be celebrity guests during the parade, such as Jamie McShane from Wednesday, Kate Linder from The Young and the Restless and more. This event is free to enter and for all ages.

On May 29, Laguna Hills will host a half marathon, diaper dash, 5K and 10K races and a kids half race. Registration for this event is open online.

The 18th Annual Newport Beach Wine Festival is coming back for Memorial Day weekend from May 26 to 28 at the Balboa Bay Resort. This event will begin with a ticketed five-course meal and wine pairing sponsored by Duckhorn Winery, as well as two days of the Grand Tasting where guests can try out the finest wines all day long. Patriot’s Promise is hosting a golf tournament charity event in honor of Memorial Day on May 22 beginning at 7 a.m. This event will include a cocktail social, silent auction, awards banquet and more.

During Memorial Day weekend, Costa Mesa will host Scottish Fest. The festival will feature two fully packed days of family-fun activities, bagpipes, highland dancing, shopping, food and more.

Visit Sea Legs at the Beach in Huntington Beach for a fun-filled weekend. On May 27, there will be a Doggy Dog Brunch event for you and your dogs to come out and enjoy plenty of food and activities. Ahead of the long weekend, join the Taste of Brea, the largest regional food fair in Orange County, on May 25 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. This is an all-you-can-enjoy event filled with delicious food and drinks from local and regional restaurants, breweries and wineries. There will also be live music and food for the entire family to enjoy.

On Memorial Day, Wartime Radio singers and Swingtet will perform an outside show for the Marine Monument in San Clemente at noon. This event will be located at Park Semper Fi and will be put on by Wartime Radio Revue. Anybody is welcome to watch this performance and can find out more information online.
