While 2020 may have been one of the worst years in recent history, there were a couple bright spots brought on by quarantine home life: the rise of independent online retailers, new artists and media-makers thriving in the limited environment of home studios, and even some interesting collaborations occurring over the online space.
These developments have continued with post-quarantine life, as online artists and retailers regularly drop collaborative items that highlight the best qualities of both parties.
Case in point: just in time for “Pie Day” on March 14, online food seller Goldbelly announced a collaborative dessert with award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion called “Megan’s H-Town Hottie Pie.”

The tasty treat promotes both Goldbelly’s online service, which gained access to dishes from 400 restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Stallion’s latest single “Sweetest Pie.” It’s a sweet treat that’ll unite the “hotties” and pie-lovers all over.
“Y'all, I'm so excited to partner with the hotties at Goldbelly!” Stallion states in a press release. “Ya girl wanted to create the sweetest pie of the century, and my fam at Goldbelly did not disappoint. With the Texas-sized dose of sweetness it's serving up, if you don’t have my pie in your mouth, you are missing out! Come and get a taste at Goldbelly.com.”
The pie in question is actually a pecan pie with a “sweet n’ salty twist.” With a rich and gooey filling, ingredients for the dessert include pretzels, coconut, butterscotch chips and–true to Stallion’s aesthetic–edible gold.
With a hyperpop layer on top of a traditional filling, the pie is a fantastic journey for the tastebuds, and goes well with Stallion’s latest single playing in the background.
“What better way to celebrate Megan's new chart-topping single ‘Sweetest Pie’ than with a taste of her very own pie,” Goldbelly CEO Joe Ariel states. “We've partnered with our girl to make food dreams come true by creating ‘Thee’ sweetest pie in the land.”
The collab also brought some new Megan content for all the stans out there, as she visited the company’s headquarters to record some exclusive footage for the site. Stallion got to try her own dish as well as some of her favorites, including sweets like the “Sweet Potato Thang” from Nikki J’s Pies, and the “Grasshopper” from Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop made from chocolate and mint.
As suggested, the collab brings together two of the online environment’s recent stars. Stallion gained much publicity in 2020 for her chart-topping songs and catchy beats, with her “Savage” remixes going so viral on TikTok, the song earned a verse from Beyonce and Stallin’s first Grammy wins.
Goldbelly, on the other hand, quietly became one of the unsung stars of the pandemic, allowing customers to order some of their favorite local dishes from all across the country without ever leaving the safety of their home.
If you’ve moved and are missing authentic foods from home, or if there’s a distant place or iconic restaurant you might never get to, it could be @goldbelly.

While it’s unknown if this is a limited time offer, hottie fans will definitely want to try this sweet dessert while it’s on Goldbelly’s site. Order one for $59. Perhaps it’ll be enough to tide them over until the next album or tour.
