Calling all lovers of Louis! Head to Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza to experience the new immersive capsule exhibition from Louis Vuitton celebrating 20 years of fine watchmaking. The sleek, futuristic pop-up will be open for exploration from Monday, Oct. 24 until Thursday, Nov. 10.
The Tambour Watch was launched in 2002 and was, surprisingly enough, Louis Vuitton’s first entry into the watchmaking world. Prior to the launch of the watch, the brand had been synonymous with luxury, high-end luggage, and travel accessories. The utility of the watch certainly aligned with the brand’s values, but careful consideration was required to develop the watch in order to prioritize craftsmanship, quality and style.

Since its initial launch, Louis Vuitton has released a new iteration of the watch each subsequent year for the past two decades and two each in 2021 and 2022. Each watch is distinct but holds true to a few key design elements, like a “ curved profile – deeply sculpted and pyramidal – seems to have been carved from a solid metal block, giving the watch an aura of sturdiness and dependability, akin to the House’s famed trunks,” according to the brand’s press release.
Louis Vuitton began in 1854 and has always championed its combination of innovation and quality. Founder, Louis Vuitton himself started the brand with a focus on the “Art of Travel” and launched iconic luggage, bags, and accessories that were bold, practical, and often personalized.
The immersive pop-up will guide guests through each watch and its history while also serving as a fabulous spot for an ‘outfit of the day’ photoshoot donning your favorite LV pieces. Gather your friends for an LV-themed trip to the mall and partake in an immersive experience that dives into fashion history.
Louis Vuitton recently opened a men’s store in South Coast Plaza located near its women’s store. Each store exudes the brand’s creative signature design elements, like futuristic decor and LV-logo-infused pieces. Take advantage of this Louis-filled plaza while you can!
