Lights, Camera…

When it comes to local festivals, few can match the Newport Beach Film Fest, and this year’s eight-day event was no exception. It opened with Broadway Idiot, which goes behind the scenes for a look at the blockbuster stage adaptation of Green Day’s American Idiot album, and closed with the West Coast debut of The Way, Way Back, with Steve Carell and Toni Collette. In between? Red carpet galas, and hobnobbing with celebs (Billie Joe Armstrong and Adam Brody, among them) and the makers of 350 flicks from around the globe. Action!
