As her headband and accessories brand celebrates 10 years, designer Lele Sadoughi (lelesadoughi.com) discusses her anniversary items and debut West Coast boutique—her second-ever retail location—at Newport Beach’s Lido Marina Village.

Congrats on your 10th anniversary. How are you planning to celebrate this milestone? We are bringing back our most iconic silhouette, the crystal lily. Each made of handmixed, brightly colored acetates and crystals, this 11-piece collection has earrings, a necklace and even a headband with colorful lilies sprinkled on top.

Why do you think your products have garnered such a following? Great fit, great quality and, most importantly, we have a style and color for everyone. People come to us for accessories. From jewelry to headbands, socks, bags, belts, sunglasses and more, we have you covered.
What inspired you to open a second boutique, and why now? Our Dallas store has done better than we could have ever imagined, and so we have decided to expand our retail presence. Newport is a big market for us!
Why did you pick Newport Beach and Lido Marina Village for your next outpost? Southern California is a very special place to me. My family lives in Dana Point, and we have been taking our kids here since they were born. Now that we are in Texas full time, we plan to spend the summers in Newport as well. Lido Village is very special, as it has a great feel on the water and is the perfect place for people to discover our brand.
How will this store compare to the Dallas one as far as the design and items carried? All of our stores will always feel like a big dressing room. Every item is accessible to try on and play around [with]. We have mirrors everywhere and encourage mixing and matching all of our accessories. For the Lido store, we will have an exclusive headband and bucket hat that were inspired by the Pacific and sunny weather.
What are some of your favorite headbands and accessories currently offered? Which new items will be launching this summer? Our new Holly shape is very fun, with the side bow. I’m also loving our straw hats and sunglass chains. Our newest category is handbags, and this summer we have some great beach totes with waterproof linings that are perfect for the beach.
How else would you like to expand the brand in the future? We are working toward being a one-stop shop for all accessories. We plan to dress you from head to toe—oh, and maybe dress up your home too!
